IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO TO PREPARE FOR CLASS?
● Yes, you will receive an email with the shopping and suggested equipment lists beforehand.
● All classes are hosted live on Zoom. You will also receive an email before class with instructions and a link to access it.
ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR THE CLASSES?
● Yes, children should be between 11-14 years old.
● Classes are designed for students with basic kitchen familiarity. We will be utilizing sharp objects and hot surfaces. Little to no supervision is based on your child’s skill level. My goal is to help to enhance your child’s skills or teach your child new skills.
● All levels are welcome! All I need is your child’s desire to cook and I can teach them. We help your child become a more creative and confident Chef!
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE CLASS?
● Introductions: Chef Mai will introduce herself and invite the children to do the same. We then do some icebreakers so that everyone feels comfortable.
● Terms & Techniques: We’ll discuss what preparation techniques and terms we’ll be learning for the day.
● Cooking: Students get to cooking!
● Tasting: No cooking class would be complete without tasting the final product.
● Discussion: Time to answer any questions and go over what we’ve learned.
● Serving & Storage: Students learn how to best serve and store the dish they’ve made.
● Closing Prayer (Say Grace): Chef Mai will pray or ask for volunteers.
